Community Meeting on Crenshaw-LAX Line, Measure R2 & Gentrification

Join us as we organize our fight to demand the draft of Metro's proposed $120 billion transportation plan for the next 40-50 years include dedicated funding for changing the Crenshaw Line street-level design from 48th to 59th Street to underground!

Metro has released the draft of its transportation plan and $120 billion sales tax increase (known as "Measure R2"), which will establish its projects, goals and priorities for the next 40-50 years. The Metro board will finalize the plan in June before having it placed on the ballot.

The plan leaves a lot to be desired (to put it mildly) for communities of color. Join us as we discuss the plan and organize to make sure the voice and demands of our community are heard by the Metro board, which includes L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.

We will also be expanding on our dialogue to promote a strategy of community revitalization and combat gentrification.
