Town Hall on Crenshaw Crossing: Transit-Oriented Displacement

Of all the proposed development projects for the Crenshaw community, Crenshaw Crossing may be the most egregious misuse of public resources because it is on public land. The culturally-insensitive white development team, Watt Communities, whose first rendering of the project had no Black people (see below), are proposing a project that is 80% market-rate. Plus, Watt has already shown itself to be a horrible landlord, evicting and harassing Black and Brown tenants in Baldwin Village.

We want Watt out so the people of Crenshaw aren't pushed out and priced out. Our public land should go towards building a project we all can afford, not to allow Watt to white-wash Crenshaw.

Join us at our THE UMOJA CENTER to discuss this community issue and our recent victory across the street at District Square.
