Join with a collaboration of community organizations in South Los Angeles at our forum with the Metro CEO Phil Washington. Hear Mr. Washington's response to our requested actions regarding our South L.A. community's need for just and equitable transit service and projects, policies to fight gentrification and local hire on construction sites.

Highlights:

  • Undergrounding the Crenshaw-LAX Line on Crenshaw Blvd
  • Fighting gentrification in our community
  • Noise & safety mitigations for the Expo Line and Blue Line
  • Slauson Blvd Tracks Bikeway Project
  • Vermont Transit Project
  • Local hire and construction careers on Metro projects
  • Improving bus service

The South L.A. Peoples' Forum is sponsored by Crenshaw Subway Coalition, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, Black Community Clergy & Labor Alliance, Community Coalition, Hyde Park Organizational Partnership for Empowerment, KPC Building Corp., Los Angeles Black Worker Center, Los Angeles Council of Black Professional Engineers, National Action Network-Los Angeles, NAACP Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch, Southern Christian Leadership Conference-Southern California, and many other organizations.

The forum is made possible by a grant from Empowerment Congress North Area Neighborhood Development Council and assistance from the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
